At least 5 years in a similar position in a multinational company, specifically leading an EHS department in an industrial environment and manufacturing plant.

Team leading experience with setting high goals and expectations, guiding others towards the most important objectives, conveying a vision so that it is tangible and actionable to others and consistently restating and reinforcing the strategic direction.

Understands EHS management systems; knowledge of assurance review process and rating system; ability to coordinate, facilitate implementation and/or maintain management systems; ability to assess the effectiveness of management system implementation; knowledge of other management systems such as ISO 14000, ISO 45000 knowledge of how to conduct audits and inspections and recommend solutions for corrective action.

Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and corporate/business unit standards (local and/or integral); knowledge of how to find and keep current with regulations and standards (internal and external); ability to interpret laws and regulations; ability to apply laws and regulations appropriately; ability to offer recommendations regarding the development of/changes to laws and regulations; ability to assess effectiveness of compliance program.

Ability to assess training needs; ability to develop and/or deliver training; ability to assess the effectiveness of training; knowledge of internal and regulatory training requirements.

Proven skills in effective verbal and written communication internally and externally to ensure alignment and understanding for EHS projects in the team and throughout other departments participating in the projects; actively shares ideas even though they might be challenged; looks at arguments from both sides of an issue.
