- Academic degree in industrial, chemical or environmental engineering or an equivalent education; specific training in management systems.
- At least 5 years in a similar position in a multinational company, specifically leading an EHS department in an industrial environment and manufacturing plant.
- Team leading experience with setting high goals and expectations, guiding others towards the most important objectives, conveying a vision so that it is tangible and actionable to others and consistently restating and reinforcing the strategic direction.
- Understands EHS management systems; knowledge of assurance review process and rating system; ability to coordinate, facilitate implementation and/or maintain management systems; ability to assess the effectiveness of management system implementation; knowledge of other management systems such as ISO 14000, ISO 45000 knowledge of how to conduct audits and inspections and recommend solutions for corrective action.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and corporate/business unit standards (local and/or general); knowledge of how to find and keep current with regulations and standards (internal and external); ability to interpret laws and regulations; ability to apply laws and regulations appropriately; ability to offer recommendations regarding the development of/changes to laws and regulations; ability to assess effectiveness of compliance program.
- Ability to assess training needs; ability to develop and/or deliver training; ability to assess the effectiveness of training; knowledge of internal and regulatory training requirements.




- Proven skills in effective verbal and written communication internally and externally to ensure alignment and understanding for EHS projects in the team and throughout other departments participating in the projects; actively shares ideas even though they might be challenged; looks at arguments from both sides of an issue.
