Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist / CT Technologist performs a full range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including general radiography and computed tomography (CT), in accordance with established scope of practice, physician orders, and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for patient preparation, positioning, image acquisition, and post-procedure documentation while maintaining radiation safety and quality standards. The position supports high-quality patient care in an acute care hospital environment and may function in either or both modalities based on department needs, training, and credentials.

Essential Functions




- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in general radiography and computed tomography in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Verify patient identity, review clinical history, and ensure exam appropriateness prior to imaging procedures.
- Prepare, position, and instruct patients to ensure safety, comfort, and optimal image quality.
- Operate radiographic and CT imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice and under appropriate supervision.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and take corrective action as needed, including repeat imaging when necessary.
