Are you an experienced Composites Design Engineer with a strong background in structural design, composite materials and engineering analysis?

We are supporting an established international marine engineering organisation looking to strengthen its design team in Palma de Mallorca .

This is a technically focused position for an engineer who enjoys developing practical solutions for complex marine projects, combining composite and mechanical design, structural analysis and hands-on engineering support .

What you will work on

You will be involved in the design and engineering of composite and mechanical structures used across a variety of marine and yacht projects.

The work will include developing new engineering solutions, supporting existing systems and components, carrying out structural analysis and producing the technical information required for manufacture, installation and service.

Projects will vary significantly, making this a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving rather than working repeatedly on the same type of product.

What you will do

- Develop composite and mechanical engineering solutions for marine projects
- Support the engineering team with design-related tasks and technical problem-solving
- Carry out structural analysis using FEA software
- Produce and modify 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Work with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar design software
- Support the design and development of composite structures and components
- Assist with material selection, laminate design and composite manufacturing considerations




- Review technical requirements and develop practical engineering solutions
- Support engineers and service teams with technical information and calculations
- Contribute to the continued development and improvement of internal engineering systems
- Work alongside international engineering, technical and service teams
- Occasionally communicate directly with customers regarding technical requirements and engineering solutions

The projects You will be working within an international marine environment supporting a range of technically demanding projects.

The work can involve composite structures, mechanical components, structural modifications, repairs, upgrades and new engineering solutions , with projects ranging from relatively focused technical challenges through to larger engineering programmes.

A strong understanding of how composite structures behave in the real world will therefore be just as important as your ability to produce designs and calculations.

What we expect from you

- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
- Professional experience within composite and/or mechanical design engineering
- Good understanding of composite materials, structures and manufacturing methods
- Experience carrying out structural analysis or FEA
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or comparable CAD software
- Ability to produce and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good spoken and written English
- Ability to work both independently and as part of an engineering team
- Experience within the marine, yacht or high-performance composites industry would be highly advantageous
- Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing would be beneficial
- Experience with Python, VBA, MATLAB or similar engineering tools would be advantageous
- Exposure to additive manufacturing / 3D printing would also be beneficial
