Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end coordination and follow-up of Financial Security risk items, remediation plans, and related governance activities.
- Analyze risk items, remediation actions, dependencies, and deadlines, identifying potential delays and escalating critical issues to management.
- Coordinate risk leads, business stakeholders, Compliance Framework, Compliance Domains, subject matter experts, and delivery teams throughout the risk lifecycle.
- Track remediation progress, challenge action plans, and ensure identified risks are sustainably addressed rather than only temporarily resolved.
- Prepare, review, and challenge Risk OpCo reporting and provide clear, accurate information to support management decision-making.
- Ensure remediation deliverables and evidence meet agreed requirements and demonstrate compliance with Group and Belgian regulatory requirements.
- Perform quality reviews of remediation deliverables and supporting evidence.
- Maintain complete requirements traceability, audit trails, documentation, and remediation evidence, ensuring SharePoint repositories remain accurate and up to date.
- Ensure effective stakeholder alignment on objectives, priorities, deliverables, and action plans.
- Act as a trusted challenger and advisor,
translating complex Financial Security topics into clear messages for both operational teams and senior management.
Experience Required
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a senior project/risk management role within banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of Financial Security processes and key risks, including KYC, AML/Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions & Embargoes, and related financial crime controls.
- Proven experience managing risk remediation, governance, requirements, action plans, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience working in the banking/financial services sector, with exposure to senior management stakeholders and complex business processes.
- Good understanding of workflow processes, IT environments, testing, and requirements management.
- Experience with conceptual modelling techniques and strong MS Office skills.
- Ability to assess risks, dependencies, remediation quality, and regulatory impact.
- Strong ability to communicate and tailor complex messages from operational teams through to senior management.
- Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluent English; good knowledge of Dutch and French.
- Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
