At SEK Catalunya International School, we are looking for a Geography & History Teacher (MYP) to join our Humanities Department on a temporary maternity cover starting in August 2026.

Mission

Guide students in exploring the relationships between people, places, historical events, and general issues, fostering critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and informed decision-making through engaging and inquiry-based learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Geography and History lessons aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).

- Design differentiated learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of students.

- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support continuous development.

- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning, assessment standardization, and departmental initiatives.

- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Humanities curriculum.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IB programme requirements and best teaching practices.

- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in History, Geography, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field.

- Previous teaching experience in Humanities,



preferably within the IB MYP and/or DP.

- Native or near-native level of English.

- Spanish and/or Catalan will be considered an asset.

- Confident user of Microsoft Office and educational technology platforms.

- Excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.

- Passion for international education and student-centred learning.
