Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in pharmaceutical facilities, API manufacturing environments, and complex construction projects? We are seeking a highly motivated professional to lead the delivery of critical pharmaceutical infrastructure project in Belgium.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation delivering state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facilities, including API production environments, GMP-compliant warehousing, cold storage facilities, and temperature-controlled logistics infrastructure.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of capital projects within highly regulated pharmaceutical environments. You will oversee planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with GMP and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pharmaceutical construction and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Oversee the construction and fit-out of API manufacturing facilities and associated utilities.
- Deliver temperature-controlled warehousing and cold storage projects for pharmaceutical products.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, procurement activities, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, quality standards,
and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate commissioning, qualification, and validation activities where applicable.
- Drive project governance and stakeholder communication across all project phases.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sector.
- Strong track record delivering API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) facility projects.
- Experience managing pharmaceutical construction, expansion, refurbishment, or greenfield projects.
- Knowledge of cold storage, temperature-controlled warehousing, and pharmaceutical logistics facilities.
- Understanding of GMP-regulated environments and pharmaceutical industry standards.
- Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Desirable
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
- Knowledge of Belgian and European pharmaceutical regulations and standards.
- Additional French or Dutch language skills.
