A major Belgian Financial Services Organisation is making its first dedicated AI hire and is looking for an AI Governance Lead to define how AI is adopted across the organisation.
This role sets the governance and operating model before the architecture and build team is brought on. You define the framework, the business defines the ambition, and you connect the two.
What you'll do
Define the AI governance framework and operating model for the bank's AI adoption
Set the direction on where and how AI is applied across the business
Connect the organisation's separate software factories under one coherent approach
Work with business stakeholders to surface requirements and turn them into AI use cases
Establish the standards and guardrails the AI architecture team will build against
What you'll bring
A track record setting AI governance,
AI strategy, or responsible AI in a large organisation
Experience in banking, insurance, or another regulated financial services environment
The ability to translate between business needs and technical delivery
Familiarity with the EU AI Act and model risk expectations for financial institutions
Credibility at strategy level while staying grounded with engineering teams
Useful to have
Dutch
Model risk background
Exposure to MLOps or AI platform environments
EU AI Act, ISO 42001 Certification AI
Details
Contract - 12 months + extensions
Flemish Region, Belgium, hybrid - 50% on-site.
