The Digital Education Council (DEC) is a integral community of practice of institutions spanning six continents. The Council is committed to driving sustainable innovation and AI adoption in Education and Workforce Development. Member institutions of the Digital Education Council represent a globally diverse and strategically balanced mix of research universities, business schools, polytechnics, liberal arts colleges, and community colleges.

Collectively, they serve over 3 million students and employ more than 350,000 faculty and staff from a wide range of disciplines, making DEC one of the most globally representative alliances in education. DEC now counts over 190 member institutions.

The Job:

We are seeking a Manager, Learning Design and Innovation to design and build DEC's education programmes and to push the boundaries of how they are delivered. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can move from curriculum blueprint to finished course, who works well with academic experts, and who is genuinely curious about what AI makes possible in learning design.

You will report to the Director of Education and work closely with faculty contributors, member institutions and DEC's research and partnerships teams.

Responsibilities include:

- Design and build DEC courses and learning programmes end to end, from learning outcomes and curriculum structure through to assessment, content production and launch
- Work directly with faculty contributors and subject matter experts to translate their expertise into clear, engaging learning experiences
- Prototype and test new formats, pedagogies and AI‑enabled approaches to learning design, and turn what works into repeatable practice

- Manage course production workflows and platform setup, ensuring quality, consistency and a strong learner experience across the portfolio
- Maintain and improve DEC's learning design standards, templates and quality benchmarks
- Coordinate contributors, reviewers and production partners to keep projects on schedule and to standard
- Track learner engagement, feedback and outcomes, and use what the data shows to iterate on live programmes
- Contribute to DEC's broader thinking on AI in teaching and learning, feeding practice back into the Council's frameworks and research

Your profile:

- 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years in learning design, instructional design or online course development
- Strong grasp of learning design principles and assessment, with the judgement to know when to apply them and when to break from them
- Practical fluency with AI tools and a clear point of view on how they change learning design
- Comfortable working with academic experts and senior stakeholders, and able to guide them through a design process
- Organised and detail‑oriented, able to run several projects at once without losing quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working across time zones with a globally distributed team
- Fluency in Spanish and/or French preferred

Why apply for this role?

- Shape learning experiences used by institutions and learners across six continents
- Work at the front edge of AI in education with a network of 190+ member institutions
- Join a fast-growing, mission‑driven organisation as it scales its impact globally
