About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of drilling operations across multiple projects throughout Western Australia.

You'll provide leadership to our Supervisors, Drillers and support teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the high standards Austral Drilling is known for.

Regular travel to project sites throughout WA will be required.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor Supervisors, Drillers and field personnel.

Build a positive culture focused on safety, accountability and teamwork.

Manage multiple drilling projects from mobilisation through to completion.

Coordinate labour, equipment, plant and resources across the business.

Develop drilling schedules and optimise fleet utilisation.

Monitor project performance, productivity and operational costs.

Work closely with the Workshop team to maximise equipment availability.

Assist with project planning, quotations,



tenders and mobilisation strategies.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Identify opportunities to improve systems, efficiency and profitability.

Ensure compliance with HSEQ systems, legislation and client requirements.

Contribute to strategic planning and the continued growth of the business.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems and taking ownership.

You will ideally have:

Extensive experience within the drilling industry.

Proven leadership experience managing multiple crews or projects.

Strong operational planning and organisational skills.

Excellent communication and people management abilities.

Sound understanding of HSEQ systems.

Experience managing budgets and project performance.

High level computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Current HR Driver's Licence.

Certificate IV in Drilling Operations (or equivalent experience).

Highly Regarded

Water well drilling experience.

Experience managing multiple drilling rigs.

Experience preparing quotations or tender submissions.

Strong commercial understanding of drilling operations.
