We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Tech Lead to lead the design, evolution, and technical delivery of complex cloud-based solutions, for one of our clients within the energy business sector. The role will combine hands-on technical expertise with solution architecture, technical leadership, stakeholder communication, and collaboration across integral teams.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong and pragmatic cloud leader who can move comfortably between solution design, hands-on technical discussions, delivery governance, and stakeholder management. They combine Azure expertise with a broad understanding of application architecture and integration, and are able to lead teams toward secure, high-quality, and sustainable outcomes.

The successful candidate will contribute to strategic technology initiatives, ensure the quality and maintainability of application landscapes, and support the continuous improvement of cloud platforms and integration services, within the Energy & Utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the technical design and implementation of complex solutions based on Microsoft Azure and related technologies.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable solution designs.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development, infrastructure, integration, and operations teams.
- Define and promote cloud architecture standards, development practices, integration patterns, and technical governance.
- Design and oversee integrations between systems through APIs and web services, including REST and SOAP.
- Analyse existing applications and identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and technical debt reduction.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, project managers, product owners, security teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in strategic projects and support technical decision-making throughout the application lifecycle.
- Ensure alignment with quality, security, data protection, and regulatory requirements, including GDPR/RGPD.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, estimation, planning, and delivery tracking.
- Review technical documentation, solution designs, code, and implementation approaches where appropriate.
- Support incident analysis, root-cause investigation, and the resolution of complex technical problems.
- Communicate technical risks, dependencies, decisions, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science , or a related field.
- Professional experience of up to 15 years in relevant platforms, technologies, programming languages, frameworks, cloud environments, or solution architecture.




- Demonstrated hands-on experience with the technologies used by the applications and services under responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure .
- Experience designing complex, distributed, scalable, and highly integrated solutions.
- Experience integrating systems through APIs and web services, including REST and SOAP .
- Knowledge of application lifecycle management and DevOps tools, such as Azure DevOps, Git, TFS , or equivalent platforms.
- Experience working on strategic, enterprise-scale, or business-critical projects.
- Good understanding of application architecture, integration patterns, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Knowledge of the Energy & Utilities market is highly valued.
- Knowledge of GDPR/RGPD and its implications for applications, integrations, and cloud services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative environments and with geographically distributed teams.
- Strong commitment to delivery quality, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Practical experience with JIRA and Confluence .
- Experience with Azure architecture and services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure DevOps, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Security, and monitoring services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, automated testing, and cloud security practices.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience in application modernization, cloud migration, or technical debt reduction programmes.

Key Deliverables:

- Technical Debt Backlog: identification, assessment, prioritization, and tracking of technical debt items and remediation actions.
- Application Technical Documentation: accurate and maintainable documentation covering architecture, components, integrations, dependencies, interfaces, deployment, security, and operational considerations.
- Infrastructure Change Requests: complete and technically justified requests for infrastructure changes, including scope, impact assessment,



dependencies, implementation approach, validation criteria, and rollback considerations.
