Role Description
We're hiring a full-time Freight Forwarder / Business Developer , remote from anywhere in the EU, to grow our business on Germany and Netherlands road freight lanes. This is a dual-sided role: developing cargo volume with clients, and developing carrier capacity to move it — liaising closely with both sides to build a reliable, scalable lane.
What You'll Do
- Develop new cargo/client relationships on Germany and Netherlands routes — prospecting, outreach, and account growth
- Develop and expand the carrier network with available truck capacity on these lanes
- Liaise daily with clients — understanding shipment needs, providing updates, resolving issues
- Liaise daily with carriers — securing capacity, negotiating rates, ensuring reliability
- Match carrier capacity to client cargo, coordinating pickup through delivery
- Negotiate rates on both sides to optimize margins
- Monitor shipments in transit and ensure smooth execution
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company procedures
What You Bring
- Experience in freight forwarding, carrier management, or transport sales (road/intermodal)
- Strong business development / networking skills — comfortable prospecting and cold outreach on both carrier and client sides
- Customer service background in logistics or transportation
- Familiarity with the German and/or Dutch freight markets a strong plus
- English required ; German or Dutch preferred
- Comfort working accurately under pressure, with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with TMS/logistics software and MS Office
- Vocational or higher education in logistics/business is a plus but not necessary
