The successful candidate will provide scientific guidance on energy market and economic aspects, contribute to the development of techno-economic models, and supervise the PhD candidate in all research activities related to energy economics. /p pThe researcher will work closely with the principal investigator and the project team, ensuring that the proposed mathematical models adequately capture market mechanisms, regulatory frameworks, and economic incentives relevant to Local Energy Communities. /p ul liProvide scientific support on the energy economics aspects of the research project. /li liSupervise and mentor the PhD candidate on research related to energy economics and electricity markets. /li liContribute to the integration of market and economic considerations into mathematical optimisation models. /li liAnalyse electricity market structures, pricing mechanisms, flexibility markets, and business models for distributed energy resources. /li liAssess the economic viability and market performance of different Local Energy Community configurations. /li liCollaborate in the preparation of scientific publications in high-impact international journals. /li liCurriculum Vitae, specifying the completed degree and any relevant professional experience. /li liMotivation letter. /li liAt the subject of the email, write RESEARCHER IN ENERGY SYSTEMS MODELLING.
/li /ul pOffer of job position: /p pWe offer an R1 position for 2 months in the framework of the Industrial PhD programme titled “Local Energy Communities Optimal Management and Integration”. /p pSalaries will be paid in accordance with IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience. /p h3Requirements /h3 pResearch Field Engineering - Education Level: Bachelor Degree or equivalent /p pResearch Field Mathematics - Education Level: Bachelor Degree or equivalent /p pSkills/Qualifications: /p ul liHold a degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent, with a specialization in energy systems modelling and electricity markets. /li liDemonstrated research experience in electricity markets, energy economics, renewable energy integration, or distributed energy systems. /li liSpoken and writing capabilities in Spanish, Catalan, and English. /li /ul pPreferred: /p ul liWorking knowledge of Python or other similar languages. /li liUsed to write scientific material (papers, conference proceedings, project proposals). /li liPrevious experience participating in similar projects (National or European) related to energy systems modelling. /li liFamiliarity with energy markets and investment schemes. /li /ul pPersonal skills: /p ul liAbility to work independently and take initiative. /li liInterest in collaborative, interdisciplinary research environments. /li /ul pMotivation to contribute to the energy transition through applied research and real‑world impact. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
