Experteer Overview In this role you will manage and optimize Octopus Energy Spain’s gas portfolio, supporting the Energy Markets team with risk tracking, hedging design, and consumption forecasting. You will operate at the intersection of energy markets, data analytics, and finance to mitigate price volatility in a regulated environment. The role offers impact across forecasting, pricing, and regulatory compliance, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration. - Monitor and adjust gas portfolio positions daily across PVB, TVB, and AVB, tracking physical/financial exposures, Mark-to-Market, Pu0026L, hedge coverage, and open positions
- Develop and validate short-, medium-, and long-term gas consumption forecasts incorporating growth, churn, seasonality, weather, and portfolio mix
- Analyze key gas market fundamentals (LNG flows, storage, demand, disruptions, weather, geopolitical events, spreads, forward curves)
- Support gas tariff pricing by translating market costs, forecasts, and risk assumptions into competitive retail offers
- Collaborate with Finance,



Data and Commercial teams to reflect market assumptions in tariffs, forecasts, and budgets
- Drive process improvements through data automation and reporting optimization
- Keep up-to-date with Spanish and European gas regulation, market rules, balancing mechanisms, and reporting obligationsResponsabilidades
- Proven 3–5+ years in energy markets with portfolio risk management focused on natural gas
- Strong understanding of Iberian/European gas markets (MIBGAS, TTF, LNG dynamics, storage, forward curves)
- Experience with market prices, consumption data, forecasts, exposures, Pu0026L, Mark-to-Market, or risk metrics
- Hands-on forecasting, time-series analysis, portfolio modelling in energy/commodity markets
- Advanced SQL, Python and/or R for data analysis, automation, modelling, or reporting
- Full professional proficiency in Spanish and working-level EnglishRequisitos principales
