Reporting to: European Data Privacy Officer (London)
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading multinational pharmaceutical company to recruit a Privacy Manager Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to join the European Privacy team, supporting the Regional Privacy Office in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations across Europe.
Working closely with the European Data Privacy Officer and key business stakeholders, you will play a central role in implementing privacy best practices, providing practical advice to the business, and supporting strategic privacy initiatives across multiple European jurisdictions.
This role offers significant international exposure and the opportunity to collaborate with Legal, Compliance, IT, Information Security, HR, Medical and Commercial teams across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day advice to business functions on data protection and privacy matters.
- Manage and review:
- Threshold DPIAs
- Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs)
- Data Transfer Risk Assessments (TRAs)
- Supplier Due Diligence Questionnaires.
- Act as the European subject matter expert for the OneTrust privacy platform.
- Coordinate relationships with Data Protection Representatives across Europe, including preparing quarterly meetings and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate privacy monitoring activities and prepare KPIs and KRIs.
- Support the review and maintenance of the European Privacy Risk Register.
- Develop and maintain privacy guidance, policies, playbooks and knowledge resources.
- Support business functions on data protection matters and privacy compliance.
- Assist with privacy aspects of contractual negotiations.
- Monitor changes in privacy legislation and regulatory developments across Europe.
- Support the management of:
- Data Subject Requests (DSRs)
- Records of Processing Activities (RoPA)
- Privacy training and awareness initiatives
- New joiner privacy induction sessions.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the European Data Privacy Officer on legal research, incident response and strategic privacy projects.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a proactive and collaborative privacy professional with excellent communication skills and experience working in international environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Data Privacy or a related area.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and European data protection legislation.
- Experience conducting DPIAs, LIAs and Data Transfer Risk Assessments.
- Experience advising business stakeholders on privacy and compliance matters.
- Experience supporting supplier due diligence and contract reviews.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders across different countries.
- Fluent English is essential.
Preferred
- Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical industry or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience with OneTrust or similar privacy management platforms.
- Knowledge of information security and data governance frameworks.
