Research Technician - Printed RF Antennas

Project:
The Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB CNM CSIC) contributes to the European APECS pilot line, an initiative focused on advancing heterogeneous integration, chip-let based architectures, and 2.5D/3D packaging technologies for next generation electronic systems. Within this framework, Integrated Circuits and System Group employs innovative materials and advanced printing processes to fabricate antenna modules for future 5G/6G communication systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Printing RF antennas and wireless components employing inkjet, screen-printing and dispensing technologies.
- Perform electrical and material characterisation of printed devices using appropriate measurement techniques and laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers from multidisciplinary teams.
Education and Experience
- MSc or equivalent degree in Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline. Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds, such as a dual degree in Physics and Chemistry, are also encouraged to apply.
- Hands-on experience in experimental research within a laboratory environment.
- Desirable:
Experience with printed electronics and/or fabrication technologies, such as inkjet printing, screen printing, dispensing techniques, microfabrication or related additive manufacturing processes.
- Working proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
