? We’re Hiring: Scientist – Protein Engineering & Diagnostic Assay Development

Taldeki Biosolutions is looking for a talented and highly motivated Scientist to join our growing R&D; team in San Sebastián–Donostia, Spain.

We are developing Metallobodies®, a proprietary hybrid technology combining engineered protein scaffolds with metal nanoclusters to integrate molecular recognition and signal generation within a single platform.

Our technology has the potential to support a broad range of applications across molecular diagnostics, biosensing, autoimmune and infectious diseases, and therapeutic monitoring.

We are looking for a scientist who is excited to work across disciplines—from protein design and assay development to the translation of an innovative technology platform into robust, clinically relevant products.

What you’ll do

Design, engineer, express, purify, and characterize recombinant proteins and protein-based recognition elements.

Develop and optimize immunoassays and bioanalytical assays, including ELISA, bead-based, fluorescence, and luminescence formats.

Contribute to the development of multiplex diagnostic and biosensing platforms.

Design experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and document results rigorously.

Work within a multidisciplinary environment spanning protein engineering, nanotechnology, bioanalytics, and diagnostics.

Help translate early-stage scientific concepts into reproducible assays, prototypes, and future products.

Contribute scientific ideas and help shape the technical direction of a growing biotechnology company.

We’re looking for someone with A PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.





Strong hands-on experience in protein engineering, recombinant protein expression, purification, and characterization.

Demonstrated experience in assay development and optimization.

Excellent experimental design, troubleshooting, and data-analysis skills.

The ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Excellent communication skills in English.

Knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage.

Experience in any of the following would be a strong advantage

Antibody engineering or alternative protein scaffolds.

Protein conjugation and surface immobilization.

Multiplex assays, biosensors, or point-of-care diagnostics.

Nanomaterials, metal nanoclusters, fluorescence, or luminescence technologies.

Clinical sample testing and diagnostic validation.

Technology transfer, product development, or work in a biotechnology startup.
