About BSC
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and hosts the EuroHPC JU. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D; in various computational science fields and has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
Context And Mission
We seek a professional with technical training in a field related to HPC, computer science, or engineering to join our team as an Education and Training Officer. The role supports National and European projects related to HPC and AI education and training, coordinating activities and developing opportunities for collaboration with HPC research centers and universities.
Key Duties
-
- Play an active role in the energy and success of internationally coordinated HPC education and training initiatives, providing enthusiasm and creative contributions based on a technical background.
- Facilitate contact and communication at the national and European level with participants, speakers, training providers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit reports and documentation professionally and within deadlines.
- Coordinate and support meetings, training events, seminars, and other activities of the Education & Training team for various audiences.
- Support the design and implementation of the BSC training program in relevant projects.
- Provide broader administrative support for the team and BSC for relevant activities.
- Organise training activities in all related aspects.
Requirements

- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a technical field such as computer science, HPC, engineering, or a related scientific domain.
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:

- Ability to manage time and organise information to ensure smooth functioning of multiple simultaneous activities.
- Competence using office software and tools to edit documents, create presentations, and store and analyse data.
- Competence in participating in, hosting, and presenting during online and hybrid meetings.
- Proven experience in training organisation.
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:

- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Experience in international project management (advantageous).
- Experience working in European projects (advantageous).
- Experience in event organisation (plus).
- Additional European languages (plus).
- Competences:
-
- Organisation skills to handle multiple assignments.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, in a team, and in a multicultural environment.
Conditions
-
- Location: BSC within the Directors Department.
- Contract: Full‑time (35 h/week) with adaptable hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support.
- Duration: Temporary (Maternity leave).
- Holidays: 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
- Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications, according to cost of living in Barcelona. xhfqzwm
