We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Chief Officer to join a 55m private Heesen yacht operating a relaxed, owner-focused Mediterranean program.

This is a single-season yacht soon heading to Gibraltar .

The program is primarily private and low-key, with most of the season involving only two people onboard, who will spend much of their time fishing from their dedicated fishing vessel. A small number of guests may join later in the season for Mediterranean cruising.

This role is adecuado for a motivated Chief Officer who genuinely enjoys operating the yacht, maneuvering both underway and in port, and being actively involved with the deck team on a daily basis.

Key Requirements:

- Chief Officer must be approved by the yacht’s insurance as Port Captain
- Ideally holding a Master 3000 license
- driving time and maneuvering experience
- Valid ECDIS certification required
- Transas Navi-Sailor certification considered a major advantage
- Experience with OneOcean navigation updating software (or similar systems)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable with quiet periods and downtime onboard
- Mature, professional, and team-oriented personality
- Absolutely non-smoker / non-vaper

The Ideal Candidate:





We are looking for someone with a genuine hands‑on attitude. Yacht upkeep and presentation are extremely important, and the Chief Officer is expected to lead by example on deck — including washdowns, maintenance, and supporting the team wherever needed.

This is not a position for someone who only want to manage administration from the bridge. The ideal candidate enjoys being actively involved in all aspects of deck operations while maintaining high professional standards.

The yacht runs with an established and relaxed program, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a professional but low‑drama environment.

Additional Details:

- 12 full‑time crew onboard
- Deck team of 4 including the Chief Officer
- Cabin sharing with the Chef during the season
- Single cabin provided during the off‑season
- Full‑time position preferred, though seasonal candidates may also be considered
- Salary: USD 8,500/month
- Leave: 60 paid days per year
