Overview

Lead and engage with clients to deliver technically challenging overhead line (OHL) design projects. Provide technical support, design responsibilities, and project leadership across multi‑discipline teams.

Responsibilities

- Provide project technical support and lead the design of overhead transmission lines up to 400kV.
- Deliver technical support for complex multi‑discipline OHL design projects, including statutory planning and public consultation events.
- Write proposals and outline project details such as timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
- Support project implementation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform all design activities: PLS‑CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, sag‑tension calculations, conductor and insulator selection, and clearance reporting.
- Conduct feasibility studies, compute conductor thermal ratings, and develop technical solutions for client presentations.




- Originate and review engineering deliverables (designs, reports, proposals, presentations, drawing packages) and perform internal quality checks.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical).
- Experience delivering projects for transmission system operators (e.g., National Grid, SSE, REE) following operator standards.
- Project experience in overhead line engineering, preferably up to 400kV.
- Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or working toward it) is preferred.
- Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines and review detailed technical outputs to a high standard. xqbhyrx
