For an international industrial company operating in a highly automated process environment, we are currently looking for an Energy & Utilities Manager to join the Maintenance team of one of its key production sites.
The position will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of site utilities while driving energy efficiency, cost optimization and sustainability initiatives across a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Your Responsibilities
As Energy & Utilities Manager, you will take ownership of the site's utilities reliability and energy performance.
Your main responsibilities will include:
· Develop and implement the site Utilities Reliability Plan, ensuring continuous availability of energy and water in a 24/7 production environment.
· Define and follow preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for utilities in collaboration with Reliability and Maintenance teams.
· Monitor utilities performance through key indicators such as MTTR and MTBF.
· Lead root cause investigations following breakdowns or utilities-related quality issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
· Design and implement energy efficiency plans covering steam, chilled and hot water, compressed air, HVAC, electricity and other utilities.
· Conduct and coordinate energy audits and identify improvement opportunities with quantified savings, required investments and expected payback.
· Establish and maintain energy monitoring and metering plans.
· Analyze energy and water consumption data and KPIs, identify trends and deviations, and provide recommendations to management.
· Monitor and report energy and ESG performance indicators.
· Prepare the site's energy budget and contribute to the management of an annual energy spend
· Manage technical purchasing activities, supplier negotiations and Total Cost of Ownership optimization.
· Identify and propose energy and utilities CAPEX projects, preparing technical and financial business cases.
· Supervise utilities installation, maintenance and commissioning activities in coordination with Engineering and Maintenance teams.
· Evaluate emerging technologies such as heat recovery, high-efficiency utilities, monitoring systems and renewable energy solutions.
· Ensure compliance with applicable energy, environmental, safety and food safety regulations and standards.
· Promote energy awareness across the site and train operational teams on efficient and responsible use of energy.
· Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across international sites.
Your Profile
· Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or another relevant technical field.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in Energy Management / Utilities within a process industry, ideally in highly regulated manufacturing environment.
· Strong understanding of industrial utilities such as steam, chilled/hot water, compressed air, HVAC and electricity.
· Experience with energy consumption analysis, monitoring and reporting.
· Knowledge of national/international energy regulations and standards.
· Familiarity with ISO 50001 or similar energy management systems/certifications.
· Experience working with SCADA systems and CMMS.
· Good understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance and utilities reliability.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
· Experience managing technical projects and translating analysis into concrete action plans.
· Hands-on mindset with a strong affinity for industrial operations and the shop floor / Gemba.
· Autonomous, proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Maintenance, Engineering, Production, HSE and Operational Excellence teams.
· Good communication skills in Spanish and English.
