ph3Position Description /h3pLegal Counsel /ppbLocation: /b Barcelona, Spain /ppbRole Type: /b Permanent /ppbPractice Focus: /b Employment and labour law /ph3About the Company /h3pOur client is a fast-growing general technology business with a substantial international footprint and a highly collaborative legal function that we have helped to build. /ppThis is an opportunity to join a commercially focused legal team working closely with People Culture, senior leadership and operational stakeholders across Europe and beyond. /ph3The Role /h3pThe Legal Counsel will provide high-quality legal support, with a particular focus on European employment issues. /ppThe role will be based in Barcelona and will suit a Spanish-qualified lawyer with strong technical employment law expertise, excellent judgement and the ability to work confidently in both Spanish and English. /ppThis is a hands-on advisory role requiring clear written communication, commercial pragmatism and the ability to manage employment law matters across different jurisdictions. /ppExperience advising on employment law issues across Europe, including France, Spain, Germany, the UK and the Baltic states, will be highly valued. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3pThe Legal Counsel will be responsible for: /pulliAdvising on a broad range of employment and labour law matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, disciplinary matters, terminations, restructures, employment contracts and internal investigations. /liliProviding practical legal support to the People Culture team and business stakeholders across Spain and other European jurisdictions. /liliSupporting cross-border employment law projects, including policy harmonisation, workforce changes and compliance initiatives. /liliDrafting, reviewing and negotiating employment-related documentation, including contracts, settlement agreements, policies, correspondence and internal guidance. /liliManaging or coordinating external counsel where specialist local advice is required.



/liliAdvising on legal risk in a clear, practical and commercially balanced way. /liliKeeping the business informed of relevant employment law developments across key jurisdictions. /liliSupporting the legal team on broader commercial, compliance or corporate matters where required. /li /ulh3Required Experience /h3pThe successful candidate will have: /pulliLaw degree and qualification as a lawyer in Spain. /liliStrong experience advising on employment and labour law matters. /liliFluency in Spanish and English. /liliExcellent written communication skills in both Spanish and English. /liliThe ability to provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice. /liliStrong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work with senior internal clients. /liliA proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach. /liliThe ability to operate effectively in an international, fast-paced business environment. /li /ulh3Highly Regarded Experience /h3pThe following experience will be advantageous: /pulliExperience advising on employment law matters across multiple European jurisdictions. /liliFamiliarity with employment law issues across the EMEA region. /liliExperience working in-house, on secondment or closely with technology, SaaS or high-growth international businesses. /liliExperience supporting cross-border HR, employee relations or restructuring projects. /liliStrong understanding of how to manage local counsel across different jurisdictions. /li /ulh3Personal Attributes /h3pThe successful candidate will be: /pulliCommercial, pragmatic and calm under pressure. /liliClear, precise and confident in written communication. /liliComfortable working with ambiguity and giving practical advice where the answer is not purely legal. /liliCollaborative and able to build trust quickly with legal, HR and business stakeholders. /liliDetail-oriented without losing sight of broader business objectives. /liliInternational in outlook and comfortable working across cultures, jurisdictions and time zones. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
