AI Governance & Privacy Operational Lead Overview We are supporting the appointment of an AI Governance & Privacy Operational Lead to sit within a Data & Digital Governance, Risk and Oversight function. This role will act as the operational bridge between Technology, Product and Data teams and key control functions including Privacy, Legal, Information Security and Third-Party Risk. The successful candidate will drive the governance and operational oversight of AI technologies, helping embed privacy, ethical and regulatory controls across software development, AI solutions and third-party Saa S platforms. The role will also play a key part in improving and automating governance processes, reducing manual effort and enabling faster, risk-based decision making. Key Responsibilities AI Governance & Operational Oversight Lead and enhance AI governance intake processes covering both internally developed AI solutions and third-party AI tools. Ensure governance, privacy and risk controls are embedded into technology delivery processes and software development lifecycles. Act as a central point of coordination between engineering, product, legal, privacy and security teams. Maintain oversight of AI assets, data flows, model inventories and third-party AI deployments across the organisation. Governance Automation & Process Improvement Drive the automation of governance and risk management processes where possible. Develop scalable approaches for intake, review, risk assessment and compliance monitoring.



Improve workflow efficiency by reducing administrative burdens and enabling teams to focus on higher-risk activities. Support the implementation of automated controls, policy checks and governance reporting mechanisms. Privacy & Regulatory Advisory Translate privacy and regulatory requirements into practical technical controls and development standards. Provide guidance on data protection considerations within AI and analytics solutions. Support privacy impact assessments and technical risk reviews for AI-related use cases. Advise teams on responsible AI deployment, data minimisation, governance controls and privacy-by-design principles. Third-Party Risk & Vendor Governance Partner with vendor management and risk functions to assess AI suppliers and technology providers. Review vendor security, privacy and governance controls. Support governance reviews relating to AI platforms, cloud services and Saa S solutions. Ensure third-party AI deployments align with organisational risk and compliance standards. Candidate Profile We are looking for professionals who can bridge the gap between technology delivery, risk management and regulatory compliance. Key requirements include: Experience operating within a CIO, technology risk, governance or digital transformation environment.



Strong understanding of AI governance, privacy and technology risk management. Experience embedding governance and compliance controls into software delivery and operational processes. Knowledge of third-party risk management, vendor governance and Saa S oversight. Ability to interpret technical architectures, system integrations and data flows. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical teams. Experience translating regulatory requirements into practical business and technology solutions. Technical & Regulatory Knowledge Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with: GDPR and broader data privacy regulations. AI governance frameworks and emerging industry standards. Technology risk, information security and governance best practice. Agile delivery environments, SDLC governance and enterprise technology controls. Data privacy concepts including anonymisation, masking, retention and responsible AI controls. AI risk management frameworks, governance models and regulatory developments.
