Job Description

The IT Operation and Service Specialist for Asset & Configuration Data Management plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, health, and reliability of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The position manages day‑to‑day CMDB data, acting as a bridge between the data and the IT teams that rely on it, while ensuring IT Service Management (ITSM) processes are strictly followed and enabling Product Service Lines (PSLs) to manage and consume CMDB data within ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

-

- CMDB Maintenance (RUN Tasks): Execute daily operational tasks to maintain, update, and audit CMDB data content, ensuring high accuracy and reliability of configuration items (CIs) and their relationships.

- Data Quality Improvement: Proactively collaborate with and support other IT teams to identify data discrepancies, resolve CI conflicts, and continuously improve overall CMDB data quality.

- PSL Technical Support: Act as the primary technical point of contact for Product Service Lines, providing hands‑on support and guidance as they manage and update their specific CMDB data within the ServiceNow platform.

- Scenario Building & Consumption: Assist PSLs in designing and building practical scenarios and workflows to help them efficiently consume CMDB content for incident, problem, change, and lifecycle management.

- Process Adherence: Ensure all asset and configuration management activities align with internal governance, ITIL best practices, and organizational ITSM standards.

Qualifications

-

- Active ITIL Certification (ITIL Foundation V3 or ITIL 4 Foundation).

- Comprehensive understanding of ITSM processes and how Configuration Management interacts with Incident, Problem,



and Change Management.

- Solid knowledge of the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM), with a focus on the data model for products and services objects.

- Hands‑on experience working with ServiceNow, specifically navigating and managing data within its CMDB and Asset Management modules.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and troubleshoot data discrepancies.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical data concepts to various IT teams and PSLs, acting as a supportive consultant.

Optional Skills

- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery or Service Mapping.

- Advanced ITIL certifications or ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA) certification.

- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments alongside Product Service Lines.
