ph3Description /h3 pAWS is looking for a HPC Specialist Architect for the Energy Utilities Business Unit, who will be a subject matter expert helping customers design solutions that leverage our HPC services. You will work closely with customers in various geographies to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive the adoption of AWS for HPC. You will interact with other Solutions Architects in the field, providing guidance on their customer engagements, and you will develop white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage HPC services on AWS. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader AWS architect population, to help them understand how to integrate AWS solutions into customer architectures. You drive effective feedback gathering from customers, and you distill and translate that feedback into clear business and technical requirements for product and engineering teams to review. You sponsor the creation of new products and features from these requirements, working closely with product and engineering teams to minimize requirements drift from your customer’s needs. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 ul liCustomer Advisor- You will interact closely with our customers Implement and deploy state of the art HPC solutions. You will build prototypes, PoCs, and explore new solutions. /li liThought Leadership – Evangelize AWS HPC services and share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, white-papers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc. /li liCreate field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate HPC solutions into customer architectures. /li liAct as a technical liaison between customers and the AWS product teams to provide customer driven product improvement feedback. /li liGenerally, travel up to 25% could be included and will be discussed at the interview stage. /li /ul h3About The Team /h3 pDiverse Experiences /p pAWS values diverse experiences. Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Python, Cuda, or Bash. /li liExperience in architecting an HPC platform with scheduling middleware (e.g. Slurm, Torque, Symphony or GridServer) and in deployment, tuning and management of HPC technologies in a multi-user environment.



/li liHigh level understanding of the underlying infrastructure platform and resources to run HPC services. Ability and willingness to develop AWS technical proficiency within the first 6 months of employment. /li liExperience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients. Proven ability to understand HPC user requirements and map these to solutions. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent /li liPerformance optimization experience with computationally intensive applications, particularly in oil and gas subsurface applications, reservoir simulation, and seismic data processing. /li liExpertise in parallel programming models for both loosely and tightly coupled applications, including proficiency with MPI (OpenMPI, MPICH), OpenMP, and hybrid parallelization strategies, and GPU programming using CUDA, OpenACC, or similar technologies, with demonstrated ability to optimize applications for GPU architectures. /li liSignificant experience in infrastructure architecture and networking. Experience with infrastructure as code technology such as Cloud Formation, CDK or equivalent. /li liAWS technical proficiency - have architected and implemented HPC solutions on AWS. /li /ul pAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
