ph3About HP And The 3D Printing Organization /h3 /brpThe HP Barcelona campus is the worldwide headquarters for HP’s 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing (HPAM) business, hosting one of the largest RD hubs outside the United States. We are seeking a graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our RD hardware team to support the development, testing, and industrialization of next-generation digital manufacturing systems. /p /br /brh3Job Summary /h3 /brpThis role is responsible for designing portions of engineering solutions and collaborating with internal and outsourced development partners. The position involves implementing and validating test plans, conducting basic feasibility studies, and evaluating device or component failures. The engineer will apply a foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts to assignments of limited scope while utilizing modern digital and AI-assisted workflows. /p /br /brh3Key Responsibilities /h3 /brul /brliComponent Design: Design portions of engineering solutions for mechanical hardware, thermal systems, and enclosures using 3D CAD tools, gradually incorporating AI-assisted tools. /li /brliTesting Validation: Execute established test plans for existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, safety, and thermal performance. /li /brliData Automation: Collect and analyze empirical data from test setups, utilizing basic scripting (mainly Python) and AI coding assistants to automate routine data collection and process test logs. /li /brliFailure Analysis: Evaluate physical or operational failures of components and subsystems to determine the root cause, leveraging internal databases and AI search tools to reference historical engineering data. /li /brliPrototyping: Assist in building, testing, and refining early-stage prototypes that integrate mechanical, electrical, and fluidic components. /li /brliTeam Collaboration: Participate as an active member of a multi-disciplinary project team,



providing objective information, analysis, and data-driven recommendations to support team objectives. /li /br /ul /br /brh3Education Experience Required /h3 /brul /brliBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduated within the last 12 months /li /brliNo previous experience is required, but internships on a related field will be a plus /li /br /ul /br /brh3Technical Competencies /h3 /brul /brli3D CAD Modeling: Solid foundational knowledge of PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent 3D modeling tools. /li /brliManufacturing Processes: Basic understanding of design parameters for sheet metal, injection molding, traditional machining, alongside an introduction to Design for Additive Manufacturing / 3d Printing. /li /brliThermal Fluid Fundamentals: Clear understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and the thermal properties of engineering materials. /li /brliSimulation Engineering Tools: Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software (e.g., Ansys) for basic design validation. /li /brliAI Data Literacy: Practical experience using AI productivity tools, LLMs for technical document synthesis, and AI-assisted coding to accelerate basic data analysis or scripting tasks. /li /br /ul /br /brh3Cross-Org Skills /h3 /brul /brliLearning Agility: Ability to quickly assimilate new engineering methodologies, corporate standards, and digital workflows. /li /brliProblem Solving: Strong analytical approach to diagnosing physical failures or mechanical interferences. /li /brliCommunication:
