We integrate bstructural bioinformatics, molecular modeling, and artificial intelligence /b to study biomolecular recognition and to design enzymes with biomedical and biotechnological applications. /ppThe group is embedded in the bIQS Department of Bioengineering /b, a multidisciplinary environment at the interface of bbiomedicine, chemistry, nanotechnology and biotechnology /b, and maintains active collaborations with leading international partners. /ph3Project:



Computational Enzyme Design for Glycoengineering /h3pThis project focuses on modeling and engineering carbohydrate-active enzymes for applications in biomedicine and biotechnology. It will combine structure-based modeling, molecular dynamics, and computational design to understand and reprogram enzyme function. /ph3Research tasks: /h3ulliModeling enzyme–substrate interactions and catalytic mechanisms /liliDesigning improved or novel biocatalysts /liliCollaborating with experimental groups for validation /li /ulpFunding: This position is contingent upon obtaining a competitive PhD fellowship (e.g., bFI (AGAUR), FPU (Spanish Ministry of Science), or internal IQS doctoral scholarships /b). /ppThe group will actively support outstanding candidates during the fellowship application process. /ppMSc in biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics, computational biology, or a related field. /ppStrong academic record and motivation for interdisciplinary research. /ph3Specific Requirements /h3pExperience in molecular modeling, enzymology, or protein design desirable. /ppGood written and spoken English.
