ppbAt ING Hubs Spain we are looking for a General Head of Security Detection and Response /b /p pAs Global Head of Security Detection Response (SDR), you will lead one of the most critical cybersecurity capabilities within ING’s Global CISO organization. At a time when cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, regulatory expectations are increasing, and digital transformation continues to accelerate, you will play a pivotal role in protecting ING, its customers, and its reputation. You will shape the future of threat detection and response by driving innovation, leveraging advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning, and ensuring the bank can rapidly identify, contain, and recover from cybersecurity threats and incidents. This is a unique opportunity to influence ING’s general security strategy while leading a highly visible function at the forefront of cyber defense. /p pbYour role and work environment: /b /p pThe Team /p pSecurity Detection Response (SDR) is a key delivery tribe within Global CISO, responsible for safeguarding ING against an ever-evolving cyber threat landscape. The team brings together expertise across Detection Monitoring Models, Next-Gen AI-Driven Detection, and the Security Operations Center (SOC), creating a comprehensive end-to-end capability for threat identification, analysis, and response. Through advanced monitoring, threat intelligence, and cutting-edge detection technologies, the team continuously works to identify anomalies and malicious activity across the enterprise. SDR’s mission is to detect and neutralize threats as early as possible, enabling secure, resilient, and trusted banking services for millions of customers worldwide. /p pThis role functionally reports to the Deputy Global CISO within Global CISO organization. /p pbYour key responsibilities /b /p ul liTranslate Global Cyber Security strategy into an SDR strategy and roadmap, driving execution, transformation, and transparent progress reporting. /li liEnsure the effectiveness, resilience, and continuous evolution of SDR services, processes, and capabilities to address emerging threats, risks, regulatory requirements, and technology trends. /li liEmbed security into ING’s business and technology strategy, enabling secure innovation and sustainable growth. /li liLead a global organization of Product Owners, Process Managers, and Service Managers, fostering a high-performing culture through talent development, coaching, and leadership excellence. /li liAct as Chief Product Owner for global SDR services, driving service adoption, standardization, and value realization across ING. /li liFoster an agile and collaborative operating model, promoting cross-functional alignment, innovation, and continuous improvement across tribes, squads, and chapters. /li liManage strategic partners and third-party providers, ensuring strong performance, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and delivery of measurable business value. /li liOwn the SDR portfolio, budget, and investment priorities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to reduce cyber risk and maximize value delivery. /li liDrive measurable risk reduction by defining strategic objectives,
key performance indicators, and outcomes aligned with ING’s risk appetite, security priorities, and operational resilience objectives. /li /ul pbWhat are we looking for? /b /p pWant to know if this job is made for you? And if the shoe fits… /p ul liMaster’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. /li li10–15 years of leadership experience in cybersecurity, information security, fraud management, or related disciplines, ideally gained within large, complex organizations and/or top‑tier consulting environments. /li liRecognized subject matter expertise in cybersecurity, supported by professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent. Additional certifications (e.g., CISA or domain‑specific security certifications) are considered an advantage. /li liProven experience establishing, transforming, and operating security services and capabilities, including security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, crisis management, threat intelligence, and security operations. /li liStrong understanding of security data analytics, detection engineering, AI/ML‑driven security use cases, and emerging cybersecurity technologies and trends. /li liDemonstrated success in defining strategic roadmaps and leading large‑scale transformation initiatives, delivering measurable business and risk reduction outcomes. /li liStrong financial and operational management skills, including portfolio management, budgeting, investment prioritization, and value realization. /li liGood understanding of applicable cybersecurity laws, regulations, risk management frameworks, and regulatory expectations within a regulated industry. /li liProven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high‑performing multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration across organizational and geographical boundaries while driving accountability and continuous improvement. /li liExceptional stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with a successful track record of engaging executives, board‑level stakeholders, regulators, and external partners. /li liStrong strategic mindset and analytical decision‑making capability, able to simplify complexity, challenge constructively, make data‑driven decisions, and lead through change. /li liExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English. /li liExperience within a highly regulated environment (e.g., financial services, critical infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare, or similar) is considered a strong advantage. /li /ul pbWhat do we offer? /b /p pThe time you spend at work, the challenges you face or the lessons you get are very important,
