ph3Director, Datasets /h3 pbReporting to: /b Senior Director of Audio Datasets /p h3About the Role /h3 pAs Side continues to expand its Datasets business, we are seeking an experienced bDirector of Datasets /b to define and lead the next stage of our growth across AI training data, speech technology, multimodal datasets and emerging data collection services. /p pReporting to the Senior Director of Audio Datasets, this role will provide the strategic, commercial and operational leadership for Side’s global Datasets line of business. /p pThe successful candidate will oversee the continued expansion of our market-leading speech and voice dataset services, while helping establish new capabilities across image, video, transcription, annotation, multimodal and crowdsourced data collection. /p pThis is a highly strategic position combining: /p ul liSolution design /li liCommercial leadership /li liOperational excellence /li liClient partnership /li liIndustry expertise /li /ul pThe Director of Datasets will work closely with Sales, Solutions, Production and Legal teams to define scalable service offerings, pricing models, delivery methodologies and long-term business strategy. /p pThe ideal candidate will bring significant experience delivering large-scale dataset collection programmes, along with deep knowledge of industry processes, commercial models and emerging trends across AI data generation and machine learning. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Strategic Leadership /h3 ul liDefine and execute the long-term strategy for Side’s Datasets business. /li liIdentify opportunities to expand beyond speech datasets into new collection services, including image, video, multimodal, transcription, annotation and other AI training data. /li liEvaluate emerging technologies, methodologies and market trends to ensure Side remains competitive. /li liHelp shape investment priorities, capability development and future service offerings. /li liSupport diversification of the client portfolio across technology, AI and adjacent industries. /li /ul h3Solution Architecture and Delivery /h3 ul liLead solution design for complex client requirements across bespoke dataset collection projects. /li liDevelop scalable methodologies for global data collection programmes involving professional talent, crowdsourced contributors, partner studios and distributed workforces. /li liIdentify the most appropriate collection platforms, tooling, technologies, payment methods and workflows for each engagement. /li liCollaborate with Production, Legal and other business units to ensure practical and commercially viable delivery models. /li liDefine best practices for quality assurance, validation, metadata,



rights management and delivery standards. /li /ul h3Commercial and Pricing Expertise /h3 ul liAct as the subject matter expert for dataset pricing, costing and commercial strategy. /li liDevelop pricing frameworks covering a wide range of dataset collection methodologies and licensing models. /li liSupport Sales and Solutions teams during client discovery sessions, proposal development and contract negotiations. /li liEvaluate project scope, assumptions, commercial risks and resource requirements. /li liAdvise leadership on market pricing, competitive positioning and new commercial opportunities. /li /ul h3Client Partnership /h3 ul liServe as a trusted adviser during client discussions involving AI training data and dataset collection. /li liTranslate complex technical requirements into practical, scalable delivery solutions. /li liBuild trusted relationships with AI companies, technology organisations, publishers and enterprise clients. /li liDemonstrate Side’s expertise and capabilities throughout the sales process. /li liSupport key client engagements from initial consultation through to successful delivery. /li /ul h3Operational Leadership /h3 ul liLead and develop the global Datasets team. /li liProvide coaching, mentoring, performance management and career development. /li liEstablish KPIs and operational objectives aligned with business growth. /li liDevelop scalable internal processes that support efficient delivery across multiple collection types and global regions. /li liFoster collaboration across Audio, QA, Player Support and other business units. /li /ul h3Industry Thought Leadership /h3 ul liRepresent Side as a recognised authority within the AI datasets and data collection industry. /li liMonitor developments in AI model training, synthetic data, multimodal datasets, crowdsourcing platforms and data licensing. /li liIdentify opportunities to introduce new methodologies that improve quality, efficiency, scalability and commercial competitiveness. /li liContribute to Side’s positioning as a premium global provider of high-quality AI datasets. /li /ul h3What We’re Looking For /h3 h3Required Experience /h3 ul liAt least five years’ experience within datasets, machine learning or AI data collection, data operations or a related industry.
