ppThis craft attendant fitter will report to the project Supervisor and will work within Captial Programme based in our Maidstone office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team. /p pYou will attract a salary of £41,031 and a bonus of 3%. /p pbIf you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check /b /p h3Close Date /h3 p03/08/2026 /p pWe also provide the following additional benefits /p ul liReservist Leave – Additional 18 days full pay and 22 unpaid /li liPersonal Pension Plan – Personal contribution rates of 4% or 5% (UK Power Networks will make a corresponding contribution of 8% or 10%) /li liTenancy Loan Deposit Scheme, Season Ticket Loan /li liTax efficient benefits: Cycle to Work, Home Tech, and Green Car Leasing Schemes /li liOccupational Health support /li liSwitched On – scheme providing discount on hundreds of retailers' products /li liDiscounted gym membership /li liEmployee Assistance Programme /li /ul h3Job Purpose /h3 pThe post holder is required to assist the Craftsperson or Engineer in their role in terms of construction, commissioning and maintenance activities on Grid and Primary Substation, whilst observing correct procedures are being followed with particular regard to safe working practices. /p h3Duties /h3 ul liEnsure safe working practices are observed in line with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, UK Power Networks Safe Working Practices and Procedure and in line with the Distribution Safety Rules. /li liAssist Craftsperson, Supervisor and Engineers in the Installation, maintenance and testing of all plant, apparatus and cables associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network. /li liAssist in fault location and repair of all plant, apparatus and cables associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network.



/li liEnsure that all works are carried out in line with the Distribution Safety Rules and to demonstrate a strong safety culture. /li liUse of appropriate IT equipment /li liUndertake a system emergency storm role as needed in accordance with network standards and safety requirements. /li /ul h3Experience /h3 h3The following skills and attributes are important to this role: /h3 ul liExperience of Electrical Installation works or an Electrical Improver. /li liEAL Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation or Equivalent. /li liEducated to at least GCSE level or equivalent. /li liCSCS/ECS Installation Electrical Card/EUSR SHEA Power or equivalent /li liFlexible and able to work in a team environment. /li liAbility to problem solve in a practical way and able to work under pressure. /li liMust have a clean driving licence (HGV License would be preferable but not essential). /li liA good understanding of Health Safety and Environmental Legislation /li /ul h3Beneficial /h3 ul liCity and Guilds 2339 – Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering or City and Guilds 2365 – Level 2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Craft or equivalent /li liCity and Guilds 2382 – Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) /li liConfined space trained /li liLadder Association trained /li liExperience in working at heights and working outside is highly desirable.



/li /ul pThe successful candidate would be expected to undertake training and development to increase their knowledge and skills that could lead to progression within the organisation and may receive salary and band progression upon attaining the higher authorisation levels. /p h3Health Safety Responsibilities /h3 pManagers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations.
