ppVall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution that promotes and develops biomedical research, innovation and teaching at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, one of the largest hospital campuses in Europe. The I2P2-RG (Infections and Immunodeficiencies in Paediatric Patients Research Group) conducts research and implementation projects focused on child health, immunodeficiencies, infectious diseases and health systems strengthening, both in high and low- and middle-income countries. The group collaborates with international partners and healthcare institutions to generate evidence and improve clinical care for vulnerable populations. /p pThe I2P2-RG is seeking a Data Scientist to support research activities through data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques applied to the biomedical and clinical environment. /p h3Main responsibilities and duties /h3 ul liTo identify and integrate available data sources to support clinical and translational research activities. /li liTo perform data analyses and interpret results to contribute to the group's research projects. /li liTo support data management and data quality processes within the research group /li liTo collaborate in the development and validation of AI-based tools within the Vall d’Hebron AI working group. /li /ul h3Education and qualifications /h3 pbRequired: /b /p ul liBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related fields. /li /ul pbDesirable: /b /p ul liMaster's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics or related fields. /li liFluency in Catalan and Spanish /li /ul h3Experience and knowledge /h3 pbDesirable: /b /p ul liProficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and statistical computing. /li liKnowledge of SQL and database management. /li liExperience in data analysis, preferably in a healthcare environment. /li liKnowledge of data governance principles and European health data spaces (EHDS).
