ppbJob Description /b /p pPurpose of the Role: The Primary Teaching Assistant plays a key role in supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences for pupils. The role involves working closely with children to promote their academic, social, and emotional development within a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. The Teaching Assistant helps ensure that every child is supported to reach their full potential. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupport the class teacher in the planning, preparation, and delivery of learning activities. /li liWork with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning and provide targeted support. /li liAssist in creating a positive, stimulating, and well‑organised classroom environment. /li liSupport pupils’ emotional wellbeing and behaviour in line with the school’s policies. /li liHelp assess and record pupil progress, feeding back to the class teacher as appropriate. /li liPrepare and organise learning materials and classroom resources. /li liSupport pupils with additional learning needs or special educational needs (SEN), adapting tasks where necessary. /li liSupervise pupils during classroom activities, break times, and school outings when required. /li liContribute to maintaining a safe and inclusive school environment. /li liParticipate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
/li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liExperience working with children in an educational setting (primary age preferred). /li liA good understanding of child development and primary education practices. /li liStrong communication and interpersonal skills. /li liAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team. /li liPatience, empathy, and a positive, proactive attitude. /li liGood organisational skills and attention to detail. /li liA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. /li liRelevant qualifications in education or childcare. /li liA good level of English literacy and numeracy. /li /ul pISP is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
