We’re here to support your goals, inspire your journey, and celebrate your wins. /p h3Job Summary /h3 pResponsible for managing fresh perimeter departments, including bakery, deli, produce, and market. Ensures quality of product, food and physical safety, and inventory stock levels. Oversees execution of merchandising plans, ensures adherence to Company standards and procedures, manages achievement of store sales and profits using acceptable business practices, and promotes customer service. /p h3Essential Duties And Responsibilities /h3 ul liCarries out management responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training and developing partners; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining partners; and scheduling, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. /li liEnsures effective training of partners within the departments under their supervision. /li liReviews historical data to predict future sales from ads and promotions. Manages inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels. Reviews profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; provides verbal or written summary to upper management regarding any related issues. /li liResponsible for maintaining and improving sales performance, cash flow, public relations, product quality, and work standards. /li liFrequently required to open/close the store. Ensures the store is presentable for the customer shopping experience; makes certain adequate staff is available; ensures safety, responsiveness, and fiscal management of cash and monetary assets. /li liEnforces quality control and food safety standards throughout multiple departments and ensures dated products are stocked and rotated properly.



Maintains cooler and freezer organization. /li liVerifies consistent adherence to proper cooking and holding temperatures in alignment with food safety standards. /li liConducts store inspections and takes appropriate action to ensure store conditions adhere to Company standards. /li liReviews planograms and executes effective merchandising plans to increase sales through displays, store layouts, and category management promotions. Ensures price and signage accuracy. /li liDevelops and implements initiatives and strategies for loss prevention and shrink reduction. /li liPlans short-term strategic objectives aligned with supporting banner strategies, anticipates problems, and revises plans to account for changing circumstances. /li liAssists in the direction of store operations and management of operating expenses to maximize cash flow, EBITDA, sales, gross margin, and net profit. /li liPromotes and maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures. /li liDisplays exemplary customer service and acts as a role model for partners; enforces customer engagement standards by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to customer complaints. /li liChecks inventory on trucks, unloads products, and ensures accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and associated paperwork. /li /ul h3Knowledge, Skills And Abilities /h3 ul liAdvanced knowledge of retail grocery store operations. /li liIntermediate understanding of Company checkout policies and procedures. /li liIntermediate knowledge and compliance of state laws regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery, as applicable. /li liIntermediate knowledge of anti-money laundering and other government regulations relating to monetary transactions. /li liIntermediate knowledge of cash register. /li liIntermediate knowledge of on-site fuel station procedures, if applicable. /li liBasic mathematical skills. /li liAbility to lead and motivate others. /li liAbility to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with customers and partners. /li liAbility to remain professional and courteous with customers at all times. /li liAbility to organize, prioritize, and manage time. /li liAbility to prepare reports and business correspondence. /li liMust be detail oriented. /li liAbility to carry out short-term strategic objectives aligned with Company initiatives. /li liAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. /li liAbility to evaluate partner performance and make corrections as needed, in a tactful manner. /li liAbility to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information. /li liAbility to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.



/li liAbility to perform basic Microsoft Office functions. /li liAbility to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc. /li liAbility to operate manual or electric pallet jack. /li liAbility to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. /li liMust be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible. /li liMust report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor. /li /ul h3Education, Experience And Qualifications /h3 ul liMinimum 18 years of age required. /li liPartners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy. /li liAssociates Degree in related field and two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required. /li liMust obtain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification through Company LEARN/LMS program within 2 weeks of starting in role. /li liMust obtain Tobacco/Alcohol certification (TABC/LACT/AATC/ABLE) through Company LEARN/LMS program within 2 weeks of starting in role where applicable. /li liMust obtain Manager Food Safety certification through Company LEARN/LMS program within 2 weeks of starting in role. /li liMust obtain Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification through Company LEARN/LMS program within 2 weeks of starting in role. /li /ul h3Physical Demands /h3 ul liContinuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus. /li liContinuously required to stand or walk. /li liContinuously required to talk and hear. /li liFrequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling. /li liFrequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing). /li liFrequently required to bend, kneel or squat. /li liFrequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs. /li liOccasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs. /li liAttendance at work is required. /li /ul h3Work Context And Environment /h3 ul liWork is generally performed in a retail store. /li liOccasionally exposed to outside temperatures and weather. /li liOccasionally exposed to extreme cold conditions (non-weather). /li liOccasionally exposed to extreme heat conditions (non-weather). /li liOccasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions. /li liOccasionally exposed to cleaning agents. /li liQuiet to moderate noise level. /li /ul pReady to find your place?
