ph3Company Overview /h3 pbSOLV Energy /b is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. /p h3Job Description Summary /h3 pThe Senior Project Accountant will perform variance advanced accounting functions and be responsible for overseeing the financial management of large-scale construction projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role includes coordinating with project managers and analyzing financial data. /p pThis role can be based full-time in our office in San Diego, CA or remote located in Pacific or Central time zones. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process. /p h3Job Description /h3 pThis job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. /p h3Position Responsibilities and Duties /h3 ul liOversee all accounting related functions for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure adherence to GAAP and other regulatory bodies. /li liAssist project teams with complex accounting-related questions or needs, providing guidance and support. /li liPrepare documentation and assist in interim and year end external audits ensuring thorough and accurate records. /li liEstablish and maintain excellent working relationships with other business partners, including Project Managers, to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and controls. /li liUnderstand and review owner contract for accounting related tasks responsibilities. /li liReview and track Preliminary notices. /li liPossess working knowledge of preparing AIA billings and assembling billing with supporting documentation. /li liCollect and review lien waivers for subcontractors and sub tiers.
/liliEnsure subcontractor compliance with document requirements. /li liProcess subcontractor payments in a timely manner. /li liDrive team adherence to month end and quarterly deadlines, consistently adopting innovative ideas to push a more efficient and accurate closing process. /li liDevelop and enhance project accounting processes, identifying and implementing improvements for efficiency and accuracy. /li liPerform cost coding and review the accuracy of vendor and subcontractor invoices. /li liComplete month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparation of complex journal entries, financial analysis and respective account reconciliations. /li liAssist tax department in calculating and processing job cost and sales tax accruals in accordance with state and county tax regulations. /li liAssist Accounts Receivable with cash application process for owner billings. /li liTrain and mentor other Project Accountants, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance team performance. /li liAdhere to all financial deadlines, including month-end and quarterly reporting by maintaining a sense of urgency for all tasks. /li liComplete other responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative. /li /ul h3Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements /h3 ul liBachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience /li liMinimum 2 years of construction accounting experience /li liStrong audit experience required, including active participation in interim and year‑end audits /li liExperience supporting or operating within a publicly traded company,
