Job Description

The Global Category Director – Energy is responsible for defining and executing the general energy procurement strategy, ensuring cost‑effective, sustainable, and risk‑averse sourcing solutions. With a strategic spend of :150 million Euro, the role is crucial in managing supplier relationships, driving market insights, leading hedging and green initiatives, and supporting Sibelco’s sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement short, mid, and long‑term energy category strategies in line with business goals.





- Lead strategic sourcing projects and ensure measurable savings while maintaining vendor service and product quality.

- Drive supplier relationship management (SRM) and set preferred supplier frameworks globally.

- Ensure the obtention of all eligible energy subsidies and other financial upsides.

- Jointly drive energy consumption optimization projects with the operations.

About you

-

- Master's degree in engineering, Logistics, Procurement, or Business.

- Minimum 10 years of experience in the energy/industry sector (international).

- English–proficient verbal & writing.

- Strong analytical and strategic mindset with business acumen.

- Deep knowledge of the European and UK commodity markets for sourcing power, gas, and fuel. Furthermore, with an understanding of the CO2 EUA ETS (1 & 2). Familiarity with the EPAD systems for sourcing power in our Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark) is considered a bonus.

- Experience with sustainability initiatives, including green strategy, CO2 reduction, and PPA implementation.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work cross-functionally and internationally. xhfqzwm
