We're partnering with a fast-growing embedded finance business that's expanding its Risk team in Barcelona.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on underwriting with the development of credit policies, assessment frameworks, and decision-making processes . You'll play a key role in assessing SME financing applications, issuing credit decisions, and continuously improving how lending decisions are made across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Assessment & Underwriting

- Assess SME financing applications and issue credit decisions.
- Analyse financial information and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with Commercial and Operations teams to deliver consistent lending decisions.

Credit Policy & Process Improvement

- Develop and refine credit policies, underwriting methodologies,



and assessment frameworks.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve decision quality.
- Partner with Product, Technology, and Operations to enhance credit tools and processes.

Skills & Experience

- Experience in Credit Risk, Underwriting, Credit Assessment or SME Lending.
- Background in Banking, FinTech, Commercial Lending or Alternative Finance.
- Experience making or supporting lending decisions.
- Strong understanding of credit policies and underwriting methodologies.
- Commercial mindset with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- SME lending experience.
- Experience improving underwriting frameworks or credit processes.
- Previous experience within a fintech or embedded finance business.
