General Purpose
Accountants perform month‑end close procedures, ensuring accurate and complete financial statements, prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, support various audit requirements, and communicate variances and trends with operations and leadership to drive satisfactory accounting results.
Essential Duties
- Work directly with accounts payable, accounts receivable, operations, payroll, and other supporting departments.
- Maintain general ledger accounting records and prepare and substantiate journal entries.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and fixed asset schedules.
- Perform month‑over‑month income statement variance analyses and deliver results to operations and leadership.
- Maintain timely delivery of financials to leadership each month.
- Maintain accruals schedule; identify missing invoices, perform monthly cut‑off accruals, accrue for utility usage.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification Requirements (Education And/or Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 3+ years in related experience or equivalency preferred.
- Offer of employment contingent on successful completion of a pre‑employment background screening and verification of legal work eligibility.
- Thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles, and demonstrated analytical, problem solving,
human relations and communication skills.
- Hybrid role with 3 days in PACS Downtown Salt Lake City office required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing detailed financial and accounting tasks requiring concentration and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate computers and standard office equipment.
- Effective communication in person, by telephone, video conference, and electronic platforms with employees, leadership, auditors, and external partners.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional travel to corporate offices, facilities, training events, audits, meetings, or other business locations as needed.
