Small Items Inbound Team Leader • Vitoria Gasteiz, Spain
JINGDONG Logistics (JD Logistics) is the logistics arm of one of the world’s leading technology‑driven supply chain solutions providers. Leveraging advanced expertise in automation, intelligent logistics, and data‑driven operations, we deliver end‑to‑end logistics solutions that help businesses grow while enhancing customer experience.
About Us
Our capabilities span the entire supply chain, including warehousing, line‑haul transportation, last‑mile delivery, bulky goods logistics, cold chain solutions, and cross‑border operations. Our mission is simple: to deliver speed, reliability, and operational excellence at every stage of the supply chain.
Context of the Position
As part of our strategic international expansion, JD Logistics is establishing its core infrastructure within the Spanish market, driven by the launch of our small‑goods fulfillment operations. This is a critical greenfield deployment phase, which requires our founding leadership team to manage high operational fluidity, establish local processes from the ground up, and translate centralized integral capabilities into localized execution.
The Mission
- Lead, motivate, and direct daily inbound shift operations (dock unloading, detailed quality inspection, scanning, and high‑velocity stowing) to ensure all incoming inventory is captured and made available for customer orders instantly.
- Take direct, hands‑on floor responsibility for the inbound receiving dock and stowing zones, tracking hourly dock‑to‑stock metrics, resolving sorting bottlenecks, and enforcing compliance with the Convenio Colectivo de Logística de Madrid.
Crucial Expectations & Performance Targets
- Hourly Dock‑to‑Stock Execution (SLA): Achieve or exceed target metrics for trailer unloading and item registration,
minimizing the time between vehicle arrival and inventory availability.
- Defect Shortage Control: Maintain near‑perfect tracking accuracy during product receipt, identifying supplier discrepancies, damaged packaging, or quantity mismatches before items enter the main storage matrix.
- Frontline Labor Management: Oversee real‑time operator allocation across receiving bays and storage aisles, track attendance, and manage shift handovers smoothly while maintaining high morale and a proactive safety culture.
- Storage Space Optimization: Coordinate closely with inventory control teams to ensure goods are stowed in 100 % compliance with localized automated picking profiles, maximizing spatial density and layout efficiency.
Position Requirements
- Greenfield Launch Expertise: Proven background as a team leader, dock coordinator, or senior captain in a high‑volume e‑commerce fulfillment center, high‑velocity 3PL, or retail distribution hub during a site launch or major peak season.
- Frontline Floor Mastery: Experience leading large groups of blue‑collar workers (30+ operators) with deep familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), pallet‑inbound tracking, and RF scanning equipment.
- Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory; knowledge of Mandarin is a valuable asset.
- Operational Flexibility: High adaptability to shift rotations (including early mornings, nights, and weekends) to guarantee complete operational coverage for a 24/7 launch cycle.
Diversity and Inclusion
We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are made based on qualifications, merit, and business needs, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
