Join Siemens Healthineers as an Onsite Service Engineer for our Proton Therapy Service Team at Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla in Santander, Spain. This role supports the installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of a state-of-the-art Proton Therapy System, ensuring maximum reliability, safety, and patient treatment availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, support, and maintain cutting-edge medical equipment in both construction and clinical environments.
- Perform system testing, validation, and acceptance activities in line with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems.
- Monitor system performance and respond to equipment faults and operational issues to maximize uptime.
- Collaborate with clinical, engineering, and operational teams to maintain reliability.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records, and performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, regulatory standards, and continuous improvement policies.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree, engineering degree, technical diploma, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn complex technologies.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with electronic and electromechanical systems, high-energy physics, particle accelerators, or medical physics.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Experience with Beckhoff or Siemens S7 PLC-based control systems.
- Motion control systems, drives, encoders, and safety systems.
- Vacuum systems and high-current DC power supplies (up to 1250 A).
- RF high-power solid-state amplifiers (up to 150 kW).
- Cooling water and cryogenic systems.
- Industrial robotics, X-ray and imaging systems.
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis.
Shift Pattern
Rotating shifts (early, late, and night). Weekend coverage may be required to follow the customer operating schedule. Team participation is distributed equally to support clinical operations.
