GG- Scientific Communication Specialist Barcelona

At MCR International, we partner with a leading Animal Health company in the search for a Technical Science Communication Specialist.

We are looking for a scientific professional with strong communication skills who can bridge Science and Marketing by translating complex scientific evidence into clear, credible, and consumer-friendly product communications, while ensuring all claims are scientifically substantiated and compliant with regulatory and nutritional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Technical Communications

- Provide scientific and nutritional guidance for marketing communications across digital channels, advertising campaigns and product launches.
- Review technical communication materials, product Q&A; documents and consumer-facing content.
- Support Consumer Care by providing technical expertise on nutrition, functional ingredients, product claims and animal health-related inquiries.
- Partner with Marketing to develop accurate, compliant and consumer-friendly product claims.
- Translate research findings into scientifically substantiated product claims.

Scientific Content & Knowledge Management

- Develop evidence-based technical documentation supported by scientific literature.
- Prepare and maintain scientific dossiers to substantiate functional claims.
- Review and develop technical content related to pet nutrition, ingredients, and health.
- Contribute to knowledge management initiatives and support continuous improvement of scientific databases and digital tools.

Product Development & Cross-functional Collaboration





- Collaborate closely with R&D;, Innovation, Marketing, Legal and Regulatory teams throughout product development projects.
- Recommend functional ingredients and nutritional solutions based on scientific evidence.
- Review packaging claims and technical positioning to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Monitor scientific literature, industry trends and ingredient innovations to identify opportunities for product development and communication.
- Support benchmarking activities and provide scientific expertise for innovation and advertising projects.

- Strong scientific mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear and engaging messages for different audiences.
- Highly collaborative, with experience working in cross‑functional environments.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and scientific rigor.
- Proactive, well‑organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Professional Experience

- Degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Animal Health, Biology, Food Science, Nutrition or another relevant Life Sciences discipline (PhD is a plus).
- Previous experience in Scientific Communication, Technical Communications, Consumer Claims, Nutritional Science or Medical Affairs.
- Knowledge of pet nutrition is highly valued.
- Experience within the Animal Health, Pet Food, Human Food or Pharmaceutical industries is desirable.
- Fluent English is required.
- Availability for occasional travel (up to 10%).
