For a long-term assignment with a major public transport operator, Gate-16 is looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect.
Your role
You will be responsible for defining, guiding and developing the organisation’s enterprise architecture, with a particular focus on its information and data landscape.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• translating strategic and operational challenges into an architectural vision and actionable roadmap;
• mapping the existing landscape and defining target architectures and transformation paths;
• ensuring alignment across business processes, applications, data and infrastructure;
• designing information and data models that can be clearly understood by the various stakeholders;
• defining data governance principles, standards and rules;
• ensuring the integrity, interoperability, security and scalability of systems;
• identifying dependencies, redundancies, technological risks and opportunities for rationalisation;
• supporting modernisation, integration and digital transformation programmes;
• assessing the potential contribution of new technologies, particularly in the areas of data, analytics and real-time systems;
• documenting architectural decisions and communicating them clearly to business, technical and management teams.
Your profile
• recent senior-level experience in enterprise architecture;
• excellent command of ArchiMate and of business process and operational modelling;
• proven experience in defining capability maps, target architecture models and transformation roadmaps;
• strong knowledge of data architecture, including governance, data quality, master and reference data, data catalogues, integration and data lifecycle management;
• sound knowledge of modern integration architectures, including APIs, event-driven architectures, middleware, microservices and real-time data exchange;
• ability to work within a hybrid environment combining legacy systems, cloud solutions and modern platforms;
• solid understanding of cybersecurity, resilience, business continuity and regulatory compliance requirements;
• ability to balance strategic ambitions with operational constraints, technical debt, costs and risks;
• excellent communication skills and the ability to bring business and IT stakeholders together around a shared vision.
Knowledge of TOGAF, BPMN, Domain-Driven Design practices or enterprise architecture management tools would be an asset.
Experience in public transport, mobility, critical infrastructure or complex operational environments would be particularly valuable. Familiarity with standards such as Transmodel, NeTEx, SIRI or GTFS, as well as with ticketing, passenger information, transport planning or fleet management systems, would also be an advantage.
Mandatory requirements
• availability to work on-site in Brussels for 50% of the assignment;
• full professional proficiency in either French or Dutch, combined with business-level proficiency in the other language;
• professional working proficiency in English.
