Gate-16 is looking for several experienced Business Analysts for long-term assignments with a major Belgian railway infrastructure operator.

Depending on your experience and areas of expertise, you may join either a business process and project management environment or an ICT functional analysis team working on railway traffic solutions.

The assignments

Track 1 – Business & Process Analyst

You will support projects and programmes by improving their methodologies, processes and project management tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

• identifying and analysing business needs and translating them into appropriate processes and tools;

• supporting the implementation, adoption and continuous improvement of these processes and tools;

• providing guidance, workshops and training to end users;

• ensuring consistency across projects and providing operational support to project and programme teams;

• contributing to annual budgeting, expenditure monitoring, forecasting and project planning;

• preparing clear and transparent reports for management and internal clients;

• helping design and implement new reporting solutions;

• improving and automating existing project management tools;

• supporting the implementation of new tools and their integration with demand, planning, capacity and request management systems;

• preparing and following up on recurring project and programme meetings.

Track 2 – Senior ICT Business Analyst

You will contribute to the functional and technical development of software solutions supporting railway traffic and information exchange with internal and external partners.

The assignment includes projects related to railway traffic in port areas, including the localisation and tracking of railway wagons.

Your responsibilities will include:

• gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements using a variety of elicitation techniques;

• translating stakeholder needs into detailed functional and technical specifications;





• analysing existing processes and proposing improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy;

• working closely with IT teams, operational departments and external partners;

• modelling business processes and functional solutions;

• contributing to Agile/Scrum projects throughout the software development lifecycle;

• preparing clear and comprehensive specifications and tender documents for public procurement procedures;

• communicating effectively with software developers and other technical specialists.

Your profile

You have solid experience in business analysis, functional analysis or business process improvement within a complex ICT or operational environment.

You also demonstrate:

• strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

• the ability to translate business needs into clear processes, requirements and solutions;

• excellent stakeholder management and communication skills;

• the ability to work with both business and technical teams;

• a structured, accurate and result-oriented approach;

• strong presentation and reporting skills;

• a professional and collaborative attitude.

Specific requirements – Business & Process Analyst track

• between 5 and 10 years of relevant professional experience;

• a university degree or bachelor’s degree in a scientific or management-related field;

• at least two years of experience in business analysis and process improvement;

• sound knowledge of project management principles, including budget, planning, quality, scope and risk management;

• experience with at least one recognised project management methodology, such as PMP,



PMBOK, PRINCE2 or Agile;

• advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint;

• advanced knowledge of SAP ERP, including Fiori and the PS, PM or MM modules.

Specific requirements – Senior ICT Business Analyst track

• at least 10 years of experience in business and functional analysis within Agile/Scrum ICT projects;

• at least 10 years of experience gathering business requirements through different elicitation methods;

• at least five years of experience with process design and modelling techniques such as BPMN or UPM;

• proven experience preparing specifications or tender documents for a public procurement procedure;

• sufficient technical understanding of object-oriented development, .NET, desktop applications and web solutions to collaborate effectively with technical profiles.

Knowledge of RFID technology or experience with asset localisation and tracking solutions would be an advantage.

Language requirements

• full professional proficiency in either French or Dutch;

• professional working proficiency in English;

• for some assignments, business-level proficiency in the second national language is also required.

Practical information

• location: Brussels – candidates must be able and willing to work regularly from the client’s premises;

• working regime: full-time;

• expected starting dates: between October 2026 and January 2027, depending on the assignment;

• long-term assignments, potentially running until 2031;
