We're looking for a Laboratory Veterinarian to join our team in Madrid and play a key role in delivering accurate, high-quality diagnostic results that make a real difference for pets and the people who care for them.
What you'll do
As a Laboratory Veterinarian, you'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality diagnostic testing while maintaining efficiency and excellent turnaround times.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing, validating and releasing diagnostic test results across a range of disciplines (Haematology, Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, Protein Electrophoresis, etc.)
- Performing quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards
- Operating, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
- Prioritising daily workload to meet turnaround time expectations
- Supporting Customer Service with technical queries from veterinary practices
- Training and mentoring junior laboratory staff according to SOPs
- Contributing to SOP reviews, inventory management and continuous process improvement
- Maintaining the highest standards of laboratory safety, quality and organisation
What we're looking for
- Veterinary Degree (DVM or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a high-throughput clinical laboratory
- Strong experience in laboratory diagnostics, including analyser operation, quality control, result validation and troubleshooting
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: haematology (including blood film review), biochemistry, endocrinology, urinalysis & microscopy, veterinary sample processing
- Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) and Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Previous experience training or mentoring colleagues is a plus
As part of an international organisation, written and verbal English communication skills are required for this position.
