Apprentice Service Technician Job Family – Service Operations This family is dedicated to delivering excellence in all safety servicing activity for the full range of Survitec safety solutions, through the relentless pursuit of improvement to process, systems, data, standardisation of work and continuous improvement practices.
Job Summary This role supports qualified technicians to install, maintain or repair Survitec products across one or more product categories, whilst working towards becoming fully competent. It is focused on delivering Survitec standard work to maintain and uphold right first time and operational efficiency. Successful completion of technical product training and the demonstration of applying that learning through competence assessment results in progression to Service Technician.
Duties and responsibilities - Supports qualified Service Technician to install, maintain and repair Survitec safety equipment to standard, learning discrete steps within the core servicing process under own supervision and working alongside qualified technicians to practice more complex steps under full supervision.
- Supports the Service Operations team in implementing controlled changes to process, delivering continuous improvement.
- Assists specialists in setting up and testing new products or processes, installing complex systems per training and competence level, seeking guidance where needed.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections under supervision, developing skills to identify and diagnose equipment and system requirements, including emergency repairs.
- Develops knowledge of Survitec policies, procedures, regulatory codes and codes of conduct, ensuring work adheres to standards, progressing toward competence in core product categories.
- Follows Survitec Health,
Safety and Environment policies and procedures; identifies and raises risks to safeguard the environment and wellbeing of self and others.
- Engages in assessment, development planning, training and coaching to achieve competence in multiple product lines, becoming part of a adaptable service workforce.
- Maintains understanding of relevant technology, external regulation and industry best practices through continuous personal development.
- Uses store requisition processes to maintain accurate stock levels and records.

Experience and qualification - Educated to high school level with 4 GCSEs or equivalent.
- No prior experience required; 1–3 years in a related industry may expedite learning.
- No formal management experience required.
