Role Summary The Advanced Biofabrication research group, led by Prof. Daniel Nieto, seeks a qualified and motivated candidate to assist in developing and operating the Novel 3D biofabrication system (HOTB) and related research activities aimed at bioprinting multi‑scaled vascularised functional living tissues.
Responsibilities
Deploy and operate the HOTB holographic optical tweezers system to manipulate, position and bioprint single or multiple cells of varying sizes within clinically relevant time frames.
Collaborate on organoid and lymph‑node tissue replication projects.
Conduct optimisation and maintenance of the holographic optical tweezers system.
Qualifications
Degree in Physics, Optics or a closely related field with outstanding academic record.
Additional experience in cell trapping using optical tweezers and cell‑culture expertise is considered an advantage.
Strong interest in bio‑fabrication, tissue engineering and multi‑scale tissue printing.
Location Full‑time position at UDC Campus, Spain. The contract will commence 1 September 2024 and run for 24 months.
