The Catalonia Institute for Energy Research Foundation is seeking a
Head of the Professional Development and Training Unit . The mission of this position is to lead the definition and implementation of the Institute’s employee development and training strategy, labour relations, the Equality Plan, and the HRS4R accreditation, ensuring talent development and staff well‑being in alignment with the Institute’s strategic plan and current labour regulations.
One of the most important challenges for the selected candidate will be to lead the implementation, monitoring, and launch of the
HRS4R accreditation , which the Institute has recently applied for and is awaiting approval.
Main responsibilities
Design and implement the annual HR strategy and action plan, aligned with the Institute’s strategic objectives and HRS4R standards, ensuring compliance with the European Charter and Code and maintaining certification.
Promote a positive work environment and well‑being initiatives.
Design professional development plans and training programmes.
Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of the Equality Plan in collaboration with the Equality Committee, as well as promote the LGTBI+ Plan and the integration of women in the scientific field.
Report, provide HR data and analytics to support strategic decision‑making for the General Management, Administration, and the IREC HR Manager.
Participate in Works Council or management meetings when required.
Prepare economic and budgetary reports related to personnel costs (including project justification).

Job offer
Interim contract (2025 Replacement Rate).
Professional category and salary according to the Career Plan and Salary Policy, depending on candidates’ qualifications and experience.
Immediate start.
Full‑time position (39 hours per week).

Requirements
Degree in Labour Relations, Law, Psychology, or a related field.
Master’s degree in Human Resources Management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Advanced command of MS Office.
High level of English, Catalan, and Spanish.
Preferred
Experience in the public research sector will be valued.
Strong knowledge of Spanish labour and scientific legislation and HR policies.
