We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in León. You will design and optimize manufacturing processes for new production plants, ensuring they are safe, efficient and environmentally friendly.
Responsibilities
Gather key design data from all relevant departments.
Perform mass and energy balances.
Prepare P&IDs.;
Conduct technical‑economic feasibility studies.
Lead risk analyses from the perspective of industrial and food safety.
Define the control strategy.
Define the production schedule.
Prepare process documentation and SOPs.
Identify critical control points.
Train staff.
Estimate operating and investment costs.
Define the main process equipment.
Define materials in accordance with the required quality.
Define and evaluate pilot tests.
Lead commissioning activities.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred).
Skills
In‑depth knowledge of the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
Knowledge of biotechnological processes.
Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines in facility safety and environmental protection.
Technical expertise in batch and continuous processes.
Strong conflict management skills.
Excellence in technical problem‑solving.
Knowledge of SAP.
Very good knowledge of Spanish and English.
Proficiency in process simulation tools.
Expertise in energy efficiency and carbon footprint.
Experience
Several years of professional experience as a process engineer in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry.
Experience in process optimization.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience as a Project Manager on projects in the range of 1 million euros is a plus.
