Role Overview
We are seeking a R&D; Enterprise Tools Operations Specialist I to join our general service and support team. The role involves handling critical system requests within core business tools, enabling scientists and engineers worldwide to focus on innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Execute R&D; system requests and fulfill customer tool requests using expertise in business systems and compliance standards.
Provide timely, professional, and empathetic support to R&D; scientists and engineers.
Act as subject matter expert for one or more complex R&D; business applications.
Develop deep expertise in key processes such as records management, lab data, training system data, and change requests.
Maximize scientist productivity by streamlining operations and saving time.
Build organizational know‑how of R&D; roles and priorities to deliver proactive system support.
Demonstrate a strong, collaborative customer‑service mindset within a diverse global team.
Identify manual steps and suggest opportunities for digitization and improvement.
Apply or develop automation and AI tools to reduce administrative load on R&D; staff.
Ensure all activities adhere to regulated R&D; processes, supporting audits and data retrieval.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical, scientific, or business discipline.
Experience: 2+ years in operations, technical support, or system administration, or equivalent academic projects or internships.
Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal English; German a plus.
System Proficiency: Ability to learn new software and systems quickly;
experience in enterprise business applications (e.g., Electronic Document Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, Project Management tools) desirable.
Data and AI: Education or experience in data analysis and use or creation of AI chatbots, prompt engineering, or AI agents desirable.
Tools: Experience with SAP, Cornerstone, Google Suite, and Office Suite.
Execution & Focus: Proven ability to complete complex, detailed tasks accurately and efficiently.
People Skills: Ability to work well with others in a hybrid virtual and global team environment.
Schedule Flexibility: Ability to support integral collaboration, including meetings in early evening hours for Europe (until 1900) and early morning hours for US (starting at 0700 PST).
