Welcome to IH Huelva, affectionately known as “Academia Britanica,” proudly serving Huelva's language learning community for over 50 years. Situated in the picturesque South of Spain, Huelva offers a blend of historical significance and natural beauty. Just 20 minutes from the coast and near the renowned Doñana National Park, Huelva beckons with its rich tapestry of culture and history. Huelva holds a unique place in history; it was here that Christopher Columbus sought solace at the La Rábida monastery before embarking on his historic voyage to the New World. Additionally, as the birthplace of Spain’s oldest football club, Recreativo de Huelva, the city boasts a rich sporting heritage, influenced by English settlers drawn to the region's mining industry. IH Huelva is nestled in a modern, recently-renovated facility at the heart of the city. Our school features 16 well-equipped classrooms, each furnished with computers and Promethean boards to facilitate interactive learning experiences.

Essential Requirements

- E.U. nationals or holders of a valid Spanish work permit.
- A recognized English teaching qualification.
- Minimum one year of recent TEFL experience.
- Native-level English.
- At least one year of teaching experience using communicative methodology.
- Ability to inspire, manage, and motivate students.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Proactive, positive, and professional demeanor.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desirable Requirements




- Experience in English for Specific Purposes and in making tailor-made class material.
- Experience teaching young learners and teenagers.
- Proficiency in IT tools such as digital materials, Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom, and Moodle platforms.
- A CELTA or TESOL certificate with a grade of B or higher.
- Deep understanding of Spanish culture.
