IRB Barcelona is seeking a talented and motivated** Postdoctoral Researcher** to join the **Biomedical Genomics Lab** led by Dr. **Núria López-Bigas** at IRB Barcelona (bbglab.irbbarcelona.org).

The position involves contributing to the development of innovative bioinformatics projects to study cancer genomics in different aspects. Contributing to analyze cancer patient mutations and identify driver genes and mutations, analysing WGS data, Deep sequencing data using bioinformatics tools.
- Proven experience in bioinformatics projects, specifically in cancer genomics.
- Excellent analytical skills, creativity, and a team-oriented mindset.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to research challenges.

**Key responsibilities**
- Developing bioinformatics analysis of genomic data
- Preparing reports and manuscripts in collaboration with other researchers.
- Participating in interdisciplinary meetings.
- Collaborate with other researchers within IRB Barcelona and external institutions.
- Engage in interdisciplinary projects to enhance research outcomes.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative research environment.
- Provide guidance and support to junior researchers, including PhD students and technicians.
- Assist in training team members in laboratory techniques and data analysis.
- Foster a culture of scientific inquiry and innovation within the research group.
- Contribute to the organization of scientific events and outreach activities.
- Engage in institutional activities and initiatives as required.
- Commitment to scientific integrity and ethical research practices.

**You have**
- A PhD in Biomedicine or similar.
- A Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Sciences, or similar.
- Professional experience in a similar role or related field.
- Programming skills.




- Fluency in English (spoken and written).

**You might also have**
- MsC in Genetics
- Experience in Cancer research
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Commitment to scientific integrity and ethical research practices.

Created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and the University of Barcelona, IRB Barcelona is a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence—a seal that was awarded in 2011.
